Kidney - renal cortex - plastic section (40x objective lens)


This view of a plastic section from the kidney shows: (1) a renal corpuscle, consisting of a capillary tuft (glomerulus) covered by Bowman's capsule, which is composed of an outer parietal layer of simple squamous epithelium, and an inner visceral layer of podocytes, separated by the urinary space (sinus); and (2) uriniferous tubules, consisting of proximal convoluted tubules and distal convoluted tubules.
Stain =H&E.
