Pancreas and Duodenum (20x objective lens)

This image is a mosaic composed of several micrographs showing parts of the pancreas and the adjacent duodenum. The latter is identifiable by its mucosal glands of Brunner (GB) and long villi (V). The pancreas has several lobes, which are further divided by septa of connective tissue. Numerous light staining islets of Langerhans (IL) are visible among the more darkly stained acini of the exocrine pancreas. Also visible at this magnification is a large intralobular duct (ID) surrounded by eosinophilic connective tissue.
