This view of the parotid
gland shows the serous secretory units that are characteristic of this salivary
gland. Note also the presence of connective tissue septa that divide the gland
into lobes and lobules. Large intralubular ducts, an excretory duct and blood
vessles are present in the connective tissue between the lobes.
